About Me

First, I have to say that I am gifted to be the mother to four adult children, and one daughter in-law (so far!).

And… I’m a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, an NBC-HWC National Board-Certified Nutrition Practitioner, and Health & AADP Certified Wellness Coach, and even a certified Life Coach. Think of me like a Health Detective working in partnership with you to restore your health. I help you to stop struggling with your health so you can get back to living your best life.

My goal is to turn that diagnosis around and rebuild your health.

Using my education and a decade of experience in wellness coaching, functional nutrition and life coaching, I create personalized health-rebuilding programs for clients that are realistic, sustainable and provide long-lasting results.

I feel honored to have the opportunity to do this life changing work right here in my community.

My Story

At the age of 50, my belly was bloated like a volleyball on a daily basis. I was exhausted, mentally, and physically. My hands and feet were so inflamed it felt like someone injected me with Vaseline. I could not make a fist and my feet hurt so bad I had to stop running (well, jogging). I was gaining weight that I did not deserve! My mood was…well, unpredictable. It felt like my body was betraying me!

I started researching online for help and then following some health influencers. Some of the information was good. Some was questionable.

A friend and I decided to commit to a 30 day detox that actually opened my eyes for the first time about how influential what we put into us (Nutrition vs Garbage) and what comes out of us (I think you know what that is)….is absolutely crucial to how we feel. I felt better, but it was temporary.

I kept searching for more information and I continued to test-driving internet advice until I was totally confused. That is when I searched out higher education. Accredited Information!

I decided to go back to school to gain the education I needed to heal myself since I literally could not find anyone else to do it! A few years, many courses, certifications and designations all combine the healing effects of both functional medicine and nutritional science. With this knowledge I took  control of my body and my life again. I feel amazing. I feel better than I had in 10 yrs. Now I teach what I have learned to heal  others who have fallen into the same rut I was in feeling old and hopeless.

So… What is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner?

I have learned that it’s best if I explain it one word at a time.

Functional: I am trained under the Functional Medicine Model.

Diagnostic: I use the latest deep-diving Functional Laboratory Testing to gather information about how your organs and systems are functioning.

Nutrition: I evaluate how your current nutrition is serving you or maybe not serving you, (often involving Functional Nutrition food sensitivity tests)and we make recommendations of how we can change it to help you heal, nourish your organs and tissues and provide necessary nourishment to every cell in your body! Food truly is the best medicine!

We likely look at supplementation to respond to the diagnostic results and to help us get you to where you want to be in health but only for a prescribed time period. Real food should be your source of health and healing, not a handful of pills. But sometimes some intervention with natural botanicals, herbs and tinctures may help to get you back to healthy, then your food can take it from there.

Practitioner: according to the Oxford Dictionary, “a person actively engaged in an art, discipline, or profession, especially medicine.”

In short, it means I’m a dedicated professional who uses a proven scientific model and state-of-the-art technology to assess and correct your relationship with the things you eat, in order to improve your quality of life, naturally.
